Book Reviews Tales from "Old Hutch": Selected Stories from
"Notebooks of the Old West" by W. H. Hutchinson "Hutch was a master wordsmith, possessed with a fanatic memory for details of history, and with a very extensive, as well as colorful vocabulary Accuracy was his guide, and truth was his creed in all his work as a teacher and historian. During the time of his radio and television programs, he prepared three books containing stories he had narrated. They were A Notebook from the Old West (1947), One Man's West (1948), and Another Notebook of the Old West (1954). Each has long been out of print. The Association of Northern California Records and Research (ANCHR) has selected stories from these three books for this present publication. Each story has a northeastern California attachment.
