Lynn Elliott was born and raised in Cardiff, Wales, immigrating to the US in 1965 just after he received his undergraduate degree from Nottingham, England. He completed his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He is a professor of English and creative writing at California State University, Chico, and recently ended a six-year tenure as chair of English. Elliott has written eleven plays, four of which have won national awards. He has also written three screenplays and three autobiographical prose pieces. In October 2018 he was named a finalist in the Best Action/Adventure and Global Script Challenge of the 2018 Oaxaca FilmFest in Mexico, where he also won a Partner in Industry award which means his screenplay Alta California is on its way to becoming a movie. He gives many readings from his writings at gatherings and conferences. The Story of Another Child's Christmas in Wales was developed into a play, Another Child’s Christmas in Wales, represented by the Drama Society of Wales. Lynn recently completed a novel for young adults, Uncle Tal and Me. He is the recipient of many grants and awards from the university, including Outstanding Teacher. He is a tenor in the University Choir and is preparing for his black belt in Sin Moo Hapkido martial arts. He lives in Chico, California, with his wife Dani. Elliott is coauthor of The Boy from the Mountains Beyond, the story of Claire and her father, master toymaker Roye. Roye gets in an accident and is unable to work. Claire discovers a boy passed out in the winter forest, protected by a wolf. She fetches her father. They take the boy to safety.
