Phantasm, vol. 2, no. 3, issue 9, 1977
Independent literary journal of original poetry, fiction, artwork, articles, features, photos, commentary, reviews, interviews, and announcements.

Mona Ceniceros ends her term as feature editor with the previous issue. Jennifer Rowe, who later marries Larry Jackson, becomes production assistant, helping Larry collate and staple the folded magazine pages after Larry prints them.

Kevin Campbell becomes poetry editor. He's married to Susan Darrough, has a son Michael, and is employed as director of the Chico Housing Improvement Program. He has a master's degree in English/creative writing, and is former editor of Sweet Thief, Branch, and Transfer.

Helen Heick creates the Japanese word of Phantasm (shown on cover) as a gift written on rice paper with a red seal to Larry Jackson after they meet at the San Francisco International Book Festival.

Ray Kirk mentions Phantasm in his Chico Enterprise-Record column "Saturday Business Notes" (May 28, 1977): "Phantasm, a bimonthly magazine featuring art, poetry, feature stories, interviews, and current events and published by Larry Jackson's Heidelberg Graphics, is now into its second year. …"
