Audience Awards 12 Filmmakers by Herman Berlandt (2 photos by Herman Berlandt). Review of the Third Annual Poetry Film Festival, San Francisco Art Institute, September 29-October 1, 1978. Poetry though the medium of film is judged by a large audience from 102 entries. First award  is for I Saw Their Angry Faces using the voice and poem of Dominic Falcone (Lexington, Mass.).

Meredith Reads as Poetry Consultant by Joe Marusiak (1 photo of William Meredith courtesy Library of Congress). William Meredith is installed as the twenty-fifth consultant in poetry for the Library of Congress October 2, 1978. Meredith gives a poetry reading to an appreciative audience in the library's Coolidge Auditorium.

Storytellers Meet in Council Bluffs by Bob Everhart (1 photo of poet Van Mertz and storyteller Jack Arnold by Council Bluffs Nonpareil). Poets and storytellers gather to determine the nation's champion storyteller. Poetry Editor Changes by Larry S. Jackson. Kevin Campbell is leaving as Phantasm's poetry editor to study dentistry in San Francisco. He'll be giving a reading November 29. 1978, at California State University, Chico, as a farewell to friends and Chico, where he's lived since 1966.

Morgan Mussell Turns to Drawing by Larry S. Jackson (1 self-portrait of artist Morgan Mussell). Former printer has shifted to drawing and printmaking with examples of his work published in this issue.
