Book Reviews The
Tattoos of Chico by Karen McHenry Watching person after person walk past every day with tattoos on their arms, legs, and elsewhere at the local gym, the author wondered why they chose the tattoos they did. Her interviews with nineteen people of all ages include stories of loss and pain commemorating their strength in the tattoos. Some became addicted to adding art to their bodies. Each shares reasons for the artwork and/or text they selected. All are admirers of ink enabling them to carry stories on their skin. Brief narratives of the tattoo artists highlight experiences and full color photos show off their work. |
